experiences
If you want people to change, you need to reach their hearts as well as their minds. And if you’re serious about it, you’d better involve their bodies, too.
This is where workshops come in: we design our workshops as dynamic experiences that allow the participants to express themselves, reflect on the way they do things and try out new ways of behaving and interacting.
Our workshops are serious fun because we know that people are much more receptive when they are enjoying themselves. Once humour is in the room, difficult topics can be explored with much more honesty and depth.
In designing and running workshops, we pay a lot of attention to the ‘energy’ in the room. In order to keep things alive and meaningful, we use a variety of dynamics: an individual thinking activity might lead into a fast-paced physical group activity that in turn is followed by a moment of stillness and group reflection.
We also use physical space as a means of making complex ideas clearer. For example, we might run a stakeholder analysis by representing different perspectives in different areas of the room and moving participants between those areas as they explore the different points of view. ‘Stepping in and out’ of different perspectives fosters a deeper and more dynamic discussion, and makes the whole process more engaging and memorable.
